Description
A PRF Box (Platelet-Rich Fibrin Box) is a specialized medical device designed to process, compress, and preserve PRF membranes used in regenerative and oral surgical procedures. Widely used in dentistry, oral & maxillofacial surgery, implantology, and periodontics, the PRF Box helps standardize the handling of PRF clots, ensuring consistent membrane thickness, sterility, and usability.
Made from medical-grade stainless steel or autoclavable polymer, the PRF Box is biocompatible, rust-resistant, and easy to sterilize. During use, freshly prepared PRF clots are placed into the compression area and gently flattened under the weighted lid. This process produces uniform PRF membranes that retain their biological properties for soft tissue healing, bone graft coverage, or wound sealing.
The integrated wells or compartments allow practitioners to store the membranes in sterile conditions, preserving hydration and bioactivity until they’re needed during surgery. Some boxes also include compartments to collect the exudate (fluid) for later application.
